To Cook or Not to Cook

July 13th, 2009

I’ve lost a bit of my zeal of cooking in recent months. I love to make food, but lately I just haven’t had it in me to make dinner for Josh and myself very often. I usually manage three times a week or so but I used to cook every single night.

I wasn’t sure why I was feeling so culinarily apathetic until it hit me: oh wait, I am cooking a lot. Just not for me. I’ve been using up all my cooking energy on Miss Mouse’s meals.

This weekend, for example, I made spaghetti on Friday night or us, but nothing on Saturday or Sunday. I did, however, make the following for Miss Mouse:

  • 3 hard-boiled eggs
  • Cheesy cauliflower and sweet potato
  • Chicken casserole with leeks
  • Steamed veggie sticks
  • Cooked beets
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Pureed mango
  • Pureed peach

Gee, I wonder why I don’t feel like cooking after all that…
