Ever have one of those days where it seems like The World is trying to tell you something? Today, the message of the universe has been pretty clear. It’s saying Don’t Go To Work.
I’m serious. First, my alarm clock was boogered up and didn’t go off. I woke up 35 minutes late, when Miss Mouse woke up. “Thank goodness she woke up,” thought I. “I’ll only be a little bit late.”
Then I stopped by Panera bread after dropping her off at Day Care because I didn’t have time to eat breakfast in the madness of trying to get out the door. When I got back to my car (without a bagel, I might add. The darned store was closed at that hour of the morning) it wouldn’t start.
It wouldn’t try to start. It wouldn’t even think about trying to start. I gamely stuck the key in the ignition several times, turned hopefully…and listened to the sound of crickets chirping. Nothing.
So now I’m sitting in my living room, waiting for a phone call from the towing company that they’ll be ready to come retrieve my incapacitated vehicle.
