Baby Sherpa

November 27th, 2009

I have always wanted a shearling Sherpa coat. You know — soft brown suede on the outside, fuzzy lambswool on the inside. Big buttons. Snuggly and fashionable. What’s not to love? But they’re pretty expensive and I — ahem — may already own more coats than I can count on two hands. And so I’ve never bought one for myself.

But while browsing in Baby Gap recently, I came across a pint-sized version. It was love at first sight. I picked it up. Rubbed my face against it. Envisioned my wee girl striding about in the leaves in it. I had to have it.

I don’t ordinarily buy things from Baby Gap, given that their baby clothes tend to cost more than things I buy for myself. But Providence smiled upon me and The Perfect Coat was half off. Clearly a sign from the heavens.
