The Joys of Plastic Stacking Cups

November 23rd, 2009

Josh’s aunt and uncle got Miss Mouse a set of brightly colored plastic stacking cups for her birthday. There are ten of them that get progressively larger as they move through the rainbow. And I confess that when we opened the gift, I was dubious. I mean, they’re plastic cups. How interesting could they be?
Answer: extremely.

Those silly cups have become Miss Mouse’s favorite toys. She spends huge amounts of time playing with them. She nests them. And stacks them. And bangs them together. And fits them together to form balls that she flings around the room. And carries them from room to room, handing them to the nearest grownup.

The cups will actually be traveling with us during the holiday season — they’re that good. Plus, when nestled together they actually take up very little room in a suitcase.
