With the departure of Miss Mouse’s bedtime bottle has come the return of bedtime snuggle time.
For a couple months, since we started letting put herself to bed, Miss Mouse has spurned my attempts to cuddle with her at bedtime. She would let me rock her and read a story and rock while she finished her bottle, but the second that was done, she squirmed and fussed and demanded to be put in her crib.
But now, it’s back to snuggle city. Last night, I tried to pop her in her bed post-story time. She objected. I thought perhaps she was relapsing and wanted her bottle. She rejected it.
Finally, I got wise and gathered her and her stuffed bunny into my lap to rock for a while. She tucked him under chin, put her head on my shoulder and settled in. Ah, bliss.
