Advertising Victory

March 19th, 2010

Ooooh. Snap. I totally succumbed to a nice bit of Whole Foods advertising today. I popped over for lunch, having conveniently forgotten to bring anything from home. My mission: some sort of fresh sandwich. That was all.

But there, prominently displayed in the aisle, was an array of yummy dips. Hummus. Guacamole. Salsa. Queso dip. Oh my. And just above the display was this sign:

Fridays Only! All Dips Buy One Get One Free!

And that was that. I came home with my sandwich plus a thing of guacamole and a thing of queso and a big bag of chips.

I like to think that I’m usually pretty good about resisting marketing ploys. If I don’t need it, it doesn’t make it a good deal just because it’s on sale. But today my defenses were down. I blame the baby. (The one in utero. Though come to think of it, I could probably find a way to blame Miss Mouse if I thought about it. That’s what babies are for, after all.)

I've decided that whenever I get pregnant I'm finally allowing myself to go to the Olive Garden again. I just hope the future baby agrees that their salad and breadsticks are delicious.
