Almost Famous

March 12th, 2010

I had a terrific near-celebrity moment today. My BFF, Meg, and her friend Corinne recently published a fantastic book called EcoCents. It’s a Green Guide to Pittsburgh and includes tips on green living, information about the Pittsburgh green movement, and tons of coupons to local green businesses. They did a great job and it’s a big hit here in the ‘Burgh, which is awesome.

In any case, Meg tapped me to write a couple short pieces for the book — one on my fist brush with a CSA farm share and one on how to be an eco-parent. For the parenting one, there’s cute picture of Ellie and me out hiking around a pumpkin patch.

Today, I popped into Starbucks for a quick pre-work chai hit and as I was checking out, the barista turned to me and said — “Hey, aren’t you in EcoCents?”

Be still my heart! I’ve been recognized!

I tell you I was giddy for hours afterwards.
