Here’s one of those great baby mysteries — how they manage to be exactly the perfect size at every phase of their development.
When Miss Mouse was first born, I remember thinking — “My God, she’s tiny. But look at how perfectly she fits in the crook of my arm! What could be better?”
And then she got a bit bigger and I thought — “Look at how she holds her head up! What could be better than the way she fits perfectly into her sling and peeks out at the world?”
And then it became — “Look at how she sits up on her own! What could be better than the way she fits perfectly into my lap?”
And now it’s — “Look at how she’s grown into this solid, mobile, energetic little person. What could be better than how perfectly she fits in my arms when she pelts across the room for a hug?”
How does she do that?
