As of approximately 5:07 p.m. this afternoon Kate and I will have been married 4 years (the wedding started at 4:30, but there were a few other things in the service before we took the vows). All 4 years have been a true blessing for me, but the last 2 have been especially blessed.
As you all know Kate and I were blessed with Jelly Bean in the Fall of 2008 and since then I have come to love my wife even more than I did before. Never before have I seen such grace and love enacted as when I see Kate with my daughter. Never has she yelled or even come close to raising a hand. Rather, Jelly Bean has known nothing but love and respect from her mother since the day she was born.
Though Jelly Bean has kept Kate busy over the last 2 years Kate has remained to be a wonderful wife as well. I have eaten well (too well, perhaps) since Jelly Bean came along. Kate has continued to help plan our future. Even though Jelly Bean is our main focus Kate has done everything within her power to make sure I am happy and healthy.
As a side note, it has also been wonderful to see Kate’s faith grow over the last couple of years. We now listen almost exclusively to K-Love, a Christian radio station. This started mainly for Jelly Bean’s benefit as we wanted her to hear positive things, but it has made a change in my wife as well. As a minister, and a christian, Kate’s growth in faith has been a real blessing for me.
My wife is a wonderful person. As a wife she is respectful and strong. As a mother she is loving and patient. I would marry her again in a minute. Happy Anniversary, Tessie. I love you.
< PS–Tessie is Kate’s nickname, I didn’t get her mixed up with someone else.
