I realized that, at this point in the game, when I don’t blog for a day, it makes people think I’m off having a baby. Alas, this is not the case. I was feeling lazy yesterday, and one clearly cannot give birth in a lazy state of mind.
In fairness, I had noble goals of helping the baby-birthing process along by consuming a lunch of spicy Indian food, but the fates conspired against me when not one but two Indian restaurants in a row were closed. I was forced (hah) to dine at Atria’s on their Oktoberfest menu, but apparently cheese soup and bratwurst don’t have the same labor-inducing properties as curry.
Today I got serious, though, and joined my parents for a morning Tyke Hike with Miss Mouse. I’ve raved about Tyke Hikes before — they’re kid-friendly outdoor adventures. Today we marched through Frick Park, admiring plants, collecting acorns, and learning about rock formations. It was pretty fab. The hike wasn’t particularly long — maybe a mile round trip — but there was a pretty noticeable change in elevation from the start to the end and back again.
I had a few promising contractions as I staggered back to the car, but by now they’ve trailed off again. Technically, my due date isn’t even until Thursday, but I’m feeling pretty ready to get this show on the road!
