Friday Night Love

October 1st, 2010

One of the things about having a new baby is that you spend a lot of time hanging out with said baby in your arms — particularly if you’re trying to breastfeed. This downtime presents an opportunity to spend some quality time with your television, if you so desire. And I do. We watch almost no TV normally, but in the early weeks post-partum, Josh and I now have a tradition (apparently — twice makes a tradition, right?) of tackling a TV show on DVD.

With Miss Mouse, I made him watch multiple seasons of Dawson’s Creek with me. This time, we’ve discovered the world of Friday Night Lights and are blazing our way through Season 1.

I know. High school football teen drama series? Seriously? Yes, seriously. And I love it.

It’s got a vaguely Dawson’s Creek-esqe flavor to it, though I will admit (painfully) that the acting, plot and pretty much everything else is better in Friday Night Lights.

A large part of my personal enjoyment of the show stems from this. Or rather, from him.

Mmmm. Taylor Kitsch is pretty. And, I was pleased to discover, is also 29 years old — not 17 as he portrays in the show — making me feel slightly less lecherous for admiring him.

I felt much better about my attraction to Finn from "Glee" when I discovered he is 28, too. :)
