Halloween Part 4: Toddler Boo Fest

November 1st, 2010

Boo! It’s Halloween in the Toddler B Room at KinderCare. The day’s festivities on Friday included pumpkin decorating, a Monster Dance Party, and a costume parade around the yard. Miss Mouse’s friends pulled out all the stops, sporting costumes that included Princess Leia, a lion, Elmo, and an ice cream cone (that Miss Mouse consistently referred to as a “pine cone”).

Parents were invited for the parade, but sadly I couldn’t make it. Josh went in my stead and took lots of pictures, though. I love the sight of toddlers holding hands (or tails, as the case may be).

It was funny for me to look at the pictures with Miss Mouse that evening and have her identify all sorts of people in the pictures that I didn’t know! I would point to a kid (or even a parent!) and she’d tell me the name. It’s nice to be able to put faces with names, but it was a bit surreal. I think that’s probably the first concrete instance of Miss Mouse knowing something that I didn’t.
To close, perhaps my favorite picture of all. Cow on Tricycle.
