Dispatch from the Day Care Trenches
December 14th, 2010
Tonight, both Miss Mouse and Little Bear were in bed asleep by 7:15pm. Why were they so tired, you ask? Allow me to present Exhibit A: the “Family Communication” sheets from KinderCare for today.
First, Miss Mouse:
Today I had a Terrific Tuesday!* I had so much fun! We pretended to make cookies and then we got to decorate them with chalk, markers, dobbers, and stickers!! We then got to have a tea party! A pretend one, of course! We sand “I’m a Little Tea Pot” too. We got to listen to a new song and it was “Going on a Bear Hunt!!” So I got to pretend I was going on a bear hunt! It was so fun!
*Note: no exclamation points have been added to this piece. They are reproduced exactly as they appeared on her sheet.
And then, Little Bear:
Today I had a great day with my friends. I enjoyed playing under the activity gym and reading “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” with my friend Sophia. I also liked watching Christian and Cody playing with the blocks. I was just taking it all in! I also finger painted.
Whew. I’m exhausted just reading about it.
And this, my friends, is just one of the many reasons I am willing to make sacrifices to keep the kiddos at KinderCare. I love reading about their days — so much fun and learning with people who obviously love fun, learning, and children. Can’t beat it.
