Safety First

January 30th, 2011

I got reprimanded by my daughter yesterday as we were driving to get her hair cut.* We were listening to one of her CDs and the song called for tapping along, which I was doing — whacking one palm against my thigh in time to the music.

From the backseat an imperious voice called out: “No, Mommy! Stop it. You’re driving.”

Dang. She’s a stickler, that one. Two hands on the wheel, if you please!

* A girls’ only adventure which she very much enjoyed. She demanded to go on another “aventure” today and was sorely disappointed when she learned that her little brother would be accompanying us to church.

So – how does a two year old know what you are or are not supposed to do while driving??? I'm waiting for the day she tells you not to talk on the phone when you're driving!
