29 Gifts, Day Twenty Two: 75 cents of smiles

May 22nd, 2011

Today, I did another simple “random acts of kindness” type gift.  We do a lot of our grocery shopping at Aldi. One of the ways that this (fabulous) store keeps its prices low is by making you pay a deposit to use a shopping cart.  Stick in a quarter and you get to use their cart.  You get the quarter back when you return the cart.

So today, when I returned our cart, I stuck a quarter in the first cart in each of the three lines of carts in the corral.  The next three people to come grab a cart would find a free cart (and a free quarter) waiting for them.

It’s the little things that brighten your day!
