Buggie Comes with a Bag

December 17th, 2011

Don’t let my previous post give you the wrong idea about my boy.  He actually loves his pink hat with a deep-seated passion.  It’s one of his favorite possessions and he wears it around the house whenever possible.

He’s also taken to carrying a little cotton bag (which is supposed to house soft cotton fruits but rarely does) over one shoulder like a messenger bag.  The combination is really quite precious.

Then there’s the fact that Miss Mouse sometimes likes to put barrettes in his hair and I sometimes let her.

Note the pony tail on top.

And altogether, I’m happy to help Buggie embrace his feminine side.  I’m hoping it might provide some counterbalance to his innate desire to pursue potentially-deadly activities

…like trying to walk down the stairs instead of going down them on his tummy.  Which is what he did today. And then proceeded to roll down the stairs.  (He’s fine, apart from a fat lip and some tears.)  This picture captured his mood after the event.

Poor baby boy! He doesn't even look like himself. Re the pink hat – I think we need an entire book of pictures of Buggie and Miss Mouse in hats. You've got some fabulous pictures of both of them.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think the hat is very sweet. And I just read a whole book about how boys with older sisters grow up to be more attractive guys–because they don't feel like they have to be 'manly' all the time and are already used to talking about their feelings. I think Mouse has Buggie on a good track for the future!

Isa, that's fascinating. I can well believe it, though. She'll cure him of any need to be manly at all times. Plus, he'll be used to things like dealing with PMS and people talking about tampons around him. He's gonna be a good catch for sure.
