Roosters. Or was it chickadees?

May 19th, 2012

We’ve arrived safely in SmallTownUSA and are getting settled.  I hope to get back to posting regularly soon, but for now, allow me to share a brief Country Living Vignette.

Thursday night was our first in our new house.  At approximately 5:45am Friday morning, I was awakened from peaceful slumber by my husband who sat bolt upright in bed and shouted — “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???

Good morning to you, too, darling.

After a bit of groggy deliberation, we determined that the raucous noise which had disturbed his slumber was…

…birds.

Not roosters crowing, as one might expect in the country.  No, no.  Just birds chirping outside the window.

Apparently, our time in Pittsburgh has turned us into city slickers.  We’ve got to readjust to life with nature!

That’s too funny and so sad. I’m glad you’ve made it back to nature even if you are even further away.

Welcome to your new home!! In spite of the best efforts of the Italian cacciatore, I am still awakened each morning by songbirds. Hope hubby grows to appreciate the phenomenon:-)
